1990 CORVETTE HISTORY
Minor cockpit modifications included a revised instrument display, combining a digital speedometer readout with an analog tachometer and other gauges. Owner’s were conveniently alerted when an engine oil change was required thanks to a new engine-oil monitor display, and remaining oil life was calculated and displayed in the cockpit as well.
Compact disc player technology was available in the 1990 Corvette for the first time with the optional Delco-Bose audio system. Additionally, all Corvettes produced after September 1989 were required to have the new Supplemental Restraint Systems installed, resulting in the safety improvement being added to the 1990 Corvette on the driver's side for the 1990 model year.
A total of 23 1990 Corvettes with built for the World Challenge racing series. Available through normal dealer purchasing practices, the cars came with heavy duty suspensions and optional engines.
